I have recently started to pour through some of my past photography to see if any of it would work well in HDR (high dynamic range). This is a shot of Tulsan and Super Bowl champion R.W. McQuarters.

OSUIT photography students were assigned to shoot a business portrait in portrait class this week. These shots are very formal and Multimedia instructor, Chris Hopkins, was asked to sit for one. On the way back to his office, I asked if I could take a crack at it. This is the result. My future as a portrait photographer is questionable.

This is a photo of my friend, Jay Lashley, who has a band called Western Heritage. His band has a very cool pop vibe. He wanted photos that captured the Western scene but also had a certain degree of style. We shot some stuff in the studio which worked out very nice, but when we went outdoors, magic!

This is a video of my brother, Kerry Kerr, singing "You are my King", May 25,2009. The video was shot at Journey Church in Joplin, Missouri, where Kerry is the Minister of Music. He is a wonderful Christian man, husband, father and big brother!

Friday of this Memorial Day weekend, Gene Ann and the twins had activities planned. So, I grabbed my camera gear and headed to the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery to remember those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. It was a beautiful evening and a fantastic way to start the weekend. Freedom is not free!

This past Saturday Taylor, Issac and Zac Hanson treated their fan club to "Hanson Day" in Tulsa. Part of the day activities included "the Walk" where Hanson and their fans walk a mile barefoot to raise funds for the needy in Africa. The Walks have been so successful that the Tulsa band and their fans have walked enough miles to circle the globe. MMMBop!!!

This is a photograph of the sanctuary of Holy Family Cathedral in downtown Tulsa. The Catholic Church was built in 1912. This image is four separate exposures built together by Photomatix Pro to create a high dynamic range photograph.

R&B singer, Brandy Jackson, came to Tulsa this week for a show and called to see if we could do a photo shoot. I was more than happy to take some photos of her. We began working together years ago when she sang with the Full Flava Kings. Our other shoots have been very produced. So, this time I wanted to use natural light and and have a more simple look.

A student in the High Voltage Pole program at OSUIT leans back while working on a pole during class. I shot the photograph during a demonstration of the 300mm f:2.8 lens.

While visiting the 62nd Stilwell Strawberry Festival over the weekend, my family and I were cruising down Main Street when I heard a sound that tickled my ears. I looked to my left and the Rocky Mountain Boys were performing in front of a Mexican restaurant. I couldn't resist running some video on these good ole boys. This is their take on Freddie Fender. Enjoy!

My family and I ventured to the 62nd Annual Strawberry Festival in Stilwell, OK this past weekend. Needless to say, it was a rocking good time! I snapped the photograph of the Strawberry Festival Queen, Jessika Baird, while she took a break from her royal duties. My twins mowed through a bag of strawberries before we could even get home.

I was curious to see what HDR would do with a portrait and one of my students, Mia Babcock, was willing to volunteer for the experiment. I was very pleased with the results.

This is a photograph of downtown Tulsa using HDR (High Dynamic Range). You shoot three different exposures of the same image and HDR chooses the best pixel from each image and combines them all to give you this cool looking photograph. Technology is awesome!

This young lady is Kate Douglass. She is the daughter of my dear friends, Phil and Beth Douglass. They asked if I would document Kate's wonderful soccer talent and of course I was more than happy to do so. We even took time to take a cool of photo of her so she will be ready to sign her Nike endorsement or at least sign with the Razorbacks. The last one is for her Mom and Dad.

OSUIT student, Andrew Jarozewski, flies through the air on his skateboard after the sun finally broke through in Okmulgee. I saw Andrew and some of his friends skating and I grabbed my Canon 5D Mark II and an 8mm lens and joined in the fun.

This is a video of the band, Cecada, performing live April 30, 2009 at Ida Red in Tulsa, Oklahoma. They have a very cool vibe and great instrumentation. Their sound reminds me of one of my favorite bands, Sigur Ros.

Monday evening I was delivering some Skills USA contest results in downtown Tulsa. The sky was so awesome, I couldn't resist pulling out the camera and scratching the itch. When the clouds rolled by, this photograph was the result. What's interesting about my career is that I would have never stopped and shot something like this when I was working for the Tulsa World. It was all about the assignment. Teaching has made me slow down and appreciate my gift.

While waiting for my daughter to take the stage at the Jenks Dance Academy Recital, the photojournalist in me decided to cover the event for "kellykerr.net". This is a little action/reaction I documented during the evening.
