OSUIT photography students were assigned to shoot a business portrait in portrait class this week. These shots are very formal and Multimedia instructor, Chris Hopkins, was asked to sit for one. On the way back to his office, I asked if I could take a crack at it. This is the result. My future as a portrait photographer is questionable. Read More » |

This is a photo of my friend, Jay Lashley, who has a band called Western Heritage. His band has a very cool pop vibe. He wanted photos that captured the Western scene but also had a certain degree of style. We shot some stuff in the studio which worked out very nice, but when we went outdoors, magic! Read More » |

Hanson "the Walk" Tulsa, Oklahoma 5/16/2009 from Kelly Kerr on Vimeo. As a part of Hanson day in Tulsa, Taylor, Issac and Zac Hanson took their fans on a one-mile walk in the downtown area. The Hanson's have used these walks to raise funds for charity work in Africa. With this walk, the trio and their fans have walked enough miles to make a lap around the globe. This video was shot with the Canon 5D MKII and an Azden shotgun mic. All the activity of the event made using the camera a challenge, but I fought through and it is always fun hanging out with the Hanson gang! Read More » |

R&B singer, Brandy Jackson, came to Tulsa this week for a show and called to see if we could do a photo shoot. I was more than happy to take some photos of her. We began working together years ago when she sang with the Full Flava Kings. Our other shoots have been very produced. So, this time I wanted to use natural light and and have a more simple look. Monday evening I was delivering some Skills USA contest results in downtown Tulsa. The sky was so awesome, I couldn't resist pulling out the camera and scratching the itch. When the clouds rolled by, this photograph was the result. What's interesting about my career is that I would have never stopped and shot something like this when I was working for the Tulsa World. It was all about the assignment. Teaching has made me slow down and appreciate my gift. Read More » |
