This is a photograph of the narrow gauge train which runs between Durango and Silverton, Colorado and dates back to the late 1800's. I rode the train many times as a youngster, but this is the first time I rode the train as a professional photographer.

A funny thing happened on the way to the Rocky Mountains. We discovered Colorado has a desert and it has the tallest dunes in the United States. This is a photo of my excited son, John, dashing across the sand.

This past weekend I visited the farm of my good friend, Steve Ripley. Steve is the frontman for the band, The Tractors. He has played lead guitar for Bob Dylan and built guitars for Eddie VanHalen. He recently launched a brilliant radio show called, "Oklahoma Rock and Roll". Leading the cast of characters on the show is Leon Russell. This is a portrait I shot of Leon at the historic Cain's Ballroom. He has collaborated with hundreds of artists, including Glen Campbell, Joe Cocker, Willie Nelson, Edgar Winter, George Harrison, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan, Ringo Starr, John Lennon, J.J. Cale, David Gates, Bruce Hornsby, Hal Blaine, Tommy Tedesco, Bobby "Boris" Pickett, B.B. King, Freddie King, Bill Wyman, Steve Cropper, Carl Radle, Chuck Blackwell, Don Preston, Jesse Ed Davis, Rita Coolidge, Gram Parsons, Barbra Streisand, Ike & Tina Turner, Ricky Nelson, Herb Alpert, Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Ann-Margret, Dean Martin, Marvin Gaye, Dave Mason, Steve Winwood, and groups such as Delaney & Bonnie and Friends, The Monkees, The Astronauts, The Accents, The Fencemen, The Ventures, The Beach Boys, The Byrds, Jan & Dean, Gary Lewis & The Playboys, Paul Revere & The Raiders, The Rolling Stones, The Ronettes, The Crystals, The Nitty Gritty Dirt Band, The Everly Brothers, The Righteous Brothers, The Flying Burrito Brothers and The Tractors. Not bad for an Okie!

2009 Tulsa Big Wheel Races from Kelly Kerr on Vimeo.

This is a video I shot from the 2009 Big Wheel Races in downtown Tulsa, Oklahoma. The proceeds of the race go to Cancer Sucks. The racers gather at the top of a hill on the edge of downtown and then have to negotiate two corners to get to the finish line. This is the first time I combined footage from the Canon 5D Mark II and the Canon Rebel T1i. Everything wide angle is the Mark II and the telephoto shots are the Rebel.

This is my friend, Tyme Hopkins. This afternoon was his 9th birthday party and it was a stone cold groove! He demonstrated the fine art of combining the trampoline with the sprinkler. All we ever had was a Slip-N-Slide and it would tear after the 5th trip down the thing and God forbid if you hit one of those little metal spikes.

I've said this before, but it's worth repeating. When I worked for the Tulsa World, I would have never bothered to take a photograph like this. My photography seems to be in a complete experimental mode and I love it! My entire neighborhood was outside watching the light show and I just couldn't resist taking a photo. I shot this with a Canon 5D Mark II and a 15mm lens. The exposure was 200 ISO, 15 seconds at f4. I ran the photo through Photomatix Pro to give it an HD look.

This is a photograph of the band, radioradio. I have been friends with these guys a long time and we have done several shoots over the years. My biggest challenge was coming up with a look for them that was new and original. The inspiration for this photo came from the Knack's "Get the Knack" album and Ah Ha's "Take on Me" video. Do you think I am a child of the 80's?

This young couple is Mikey, who is an OSUIT multimedia student and his fiance, Sarah. They asked me if I would be willing to take their engagement photos for their upcoming wedding in November. Much like senior portraits and weddings, I don't shoot a lot of engagement photos, but in this case, I agreed and wanted to give them something fun and different.

This weekend I made my way to downtown Tulsa for the Tulsa Tough bike event. These racers rides through the streets of Tulsa at a very high rate of speed and as I found out, accidents do happen. Since I don't have to live with the photojournalist title any more, I allow myself to be more artistic when I go to these type of events. I really don't know what the result will be, but that's the fun of it all.
