This is a photograph I took this past week of my good friends, the Red Dirt Rangers, better known as Brad Piccolo, Ben Han and John Cooper. We spent the evening shooting some stills and video on their stompn' grounds, Lone Chimney, Oklahoma as they prepared for the band's 20th anniversary. My congradulations goes out to these fine Okie's not only because they are great muscians but because they are great people!

This afternoon I did a photo shoot for Ida Red, which is the cool, rock & roll boutique of the Cain's Ballroom. We took Cain's t-shirts and gave them to some of the most beautiful people in Tulsa and I shot their photograph in the ballroom. My old friends, Hanson, dropped by and fun was had by all. Tonight on Steve Ripley's radio show, "Oklahoma Rock and Roll", he spoke tenderly of the time Bo Diddley came to the Church Studio for a visit. This is a photo of country crooner, Mark Chapman. He calls Missouri but came down to Tulsa to shoot some photos. We did the majority of our work in an abandoned building in downtown. I originally wanted the images to have a cleaner look, but the shoot turned a little more gritty. I used an HDR filter to achieve the look I wanted.

Last night Aerosmith played in Tulsa. The event reminded me of this photo I shot of Steven Tyler several years ago. It was a slow afternoon at the Tulsa World when we got a call that Steven Tyler was shopping on Cherry Street. I went down to investigate and found him in a clothing store. I asked if anyone had seen Liv Tyler's dad. He turned around, smiled and put a hat pin in his teeth. I shot one frame and afterward we talked for a few minutes and I left. He couldn't have been nicer.
