This is a little drill I teach my photography students, No, not roller skating in a poodle skirt! Tonight, I photographed the South Baptist Church car show and I alway try to find a photo that doesn't answer the obvious questions. In this case, the obvious is a photo of people looking at old cars. This shot is much more fun!

This is a photograph of Dr. Carrie Sessom. Although a dentist by day, she agreed to model for the purse and scarf project I have been working on over the past few weeks. The camera likes her so well the dentist thing may just become a hobby. We shot this photo about 25 feet outside of the BOK Center in downtown Tulsa.

My family and I along with some of our closest friends spent the afternoon in my wife's home town of Dewey. One weekend every year Dewey celebrates it's western heritage and number one son, Tom Mix, by having many western activities. The weekend is a ton of fun and makes for some great photographs.

This is a portrait of muscians, Fat Kaplin and Kristi Rose after they performed at Ida Red in Tulsa. Fats and Kristi have long been revered as artists of “distinctive personal approach” Kristi Rose as a singer with a voice that can “sing the stars from the heavens” has been compared to artists ranging from Wanda Jackson to Patti Smith. Fats, as a “brilliant multi-instrumentalist” has been sought over the years by artists as diverse as The Tractors, The Manhattan Transfer, Pure Prairie League, Emmy Lou Harris, Nanci Griffith, The Mavericks, Suzy Boggus, Elvis Costello, The Judds, Buddy Miller, Jason Ringenberg, (with and w/o the Scorchers) and in his own Americana chart topping band, Kane-Welch-Kaplin, as well as many, many more. Together, Fats and Kristi Rose have created a musical genre, (and way of life) known as Pulp Country.

Friday night, I was on my way home from an event on Brookside in Tulsa. Driving down Peoria, Claude's Hamburgers caught my attention. The was the stools were stacked and the lighting looked like an old painting. I couldn't resist taking a photo.

Today, my family and I visited the Oklahoma City area. We made a point to go by the Oklahoma City Memorial. During my tenure at the Tulsa World, I spent countless hours shooting photos at this site: search & rescue, memorial construction and several anniversary ceremonies. Now as I return to the site removed from my role in the media, I can't help but appreciate what a beautiful and meaningful place it has become.

Today, my family and I spent the day in the Oklahoma CIty area. After grabbing some dinner in Okarche and visiting the OKC Bombing Memorial, we ventured back to Tulsa along Route 66. While driving through Arcadia, I notice an orchard highlighted by the light of a full moon. I couldn't resist taking a photo.
